Research: fortifications
Fortified and military architecture represents a preferred field of the research led by Davide Tansini: castles, towers, rocche, fortresses, town-walls, bastioned fronts and places distributed in Northern Italy, with particular consideration to realizations produced between Middle and Modern Ages. For every inspected monument Davide Tansini supports the archivistical-bibliographical inquiry with the on-the-spot observation of the architectonical works, completed by the acquisition and collation of photographical evidences (Image and memory [Immagine e memoria] project). To point out, besides, the attention addressed to so-called minor, converted or no longer whole structures, often neglected but which sometimes prove to be significant historical-architectonical evidences.
